Perfect! - 5 Stars

November 2021

Overall
5

This condo is perfect for us! We have stayed here for many years. The location is central to what we need on Islamorada. The condo itself is lovely. The grounds are perfectly manicured. We love watching the peacocks wander about. There are beautiful views of the Atlantic, a small dock and pool. The condo is updated and very comfortable and spacious. We can’t wait until next year!

This is not our first time staying at this condo at Port of Call. The condo is nicely decorated and well stocked to meet all of our needs. We love the secluded, quiet location on a beautiful property. We hope to return again next November!

We appreciated the new refrigerator. The unit was very clean, had fresh paint, and everything was in good shape.

Nice Getaway Location

March 2019

Overall
4

Our family of four enjoyed this condo for a week at the end of March, with gorgeous views of the ocean and a comfortable unit that smelled and was sparkling clean on arrival and provided tons of blankets, bath and beach towels, kitchen amenities with a good starting stock of tissue, soap, toilet paper and paper towels. We made use of the little private community pool, the sandy beach area and the pier where my son spent a lot of time fishing (with a fishing license!) off the dock with my husband. The condo is perfectly located on Plantation Key in Islamorada, nearly right across from Mile Marker 88, tucked nicely and quietly away with five or so other units like it and it was mostly quiet (Islamorada has been overrun with gorgeous peacocks who sound like a small children or cats in distress). During our time there, there was also the echo of music over speakers, which always had a pleasant playlist and kids in the pool from a house just two properties down carried that well into the evening and started promptly at 8 a.m. each morning. Nothing obnoxious, but you'll likely read the morning paper on the porch to Jimmy Buffett from a couple houses away and have the constant sound of "summer fun" in the air. But it's the Keys and it's active and people are enjoying life. The condo units feel safe and is well kept and people are attentive to personal space and respect for upkeep and cleanliness and others. Thee are a couple of full time residents there who are very kind and gracious and appreciate the return of that kindness from visitors. The floorpan of the condo, which is a little older, relies on the constant use of stairs. I would caution this is not a property for anyone who has difficulty or shies away from stairs, particularly narrow circular ones that lead up to the bedrooms and rooftop. You will find it difficult to move large suitcases up and down to the bedroom level so my recommendations is smaller bags. I understand circular stairs is an issue of space, but it is an odd feel in an otherwise spacious condo. For this, and some of the external noise, I give the rental four stars instead of a perfect five. The bedrooms are a great size -- king in master, queen in guest, each with its own spacious bathroom. The rooftop views, accessed through the master bedroom and from the master balcony, are stunning, though the rooftop surface could use a good scrape of the chalky peeling paint and a new coat. We enjoyed several evening sunsets up there watching the pink disappear into the blue. Air-conditioning works great, there is a dishwasher and a washer and dryer in the kitchen. Really everything was ideal and easy for what we needed and were looking for.
