Hawksbill Cottage - The Hawksbill Cottage is located in Turtle Cove, Islamorada's quaint enclave of four single family homes all with their own personality and characteristics. All four cottages share the property's amenities: pool, boat basin, tropical sprawling grounds, ping pong table, kayaks, paddle boards and more. This peaceful bungalow is secluded in lush tropical landscaping. It features a king bedroom, bathroom with walk-in shower, kitchen, living room and private patio. The decor and furnishings give it a tranquil feel. The Hawksbill Cottage can be rented separately or in combination with any of the other three homes. There is a cottage above the attached garage, referred to as The Treehouse, that is convenient to rent for family and friends.

We really did love the cottage. Beautifully decorated and clean. I would have given five stars but we had plumbing issues for a few days. Sue handled the situation with efficiency and was ready to make accommodations else where if need be. Definitely would come back and stay in another house closer to the view and water. Pat Dolce

This compound is private and relaxing. Our cottage was well appointed and very comfy for two. We enjoyed the grounds and waterfront as well as utilizing the bikes and kayaks. Sue was readily available and helpful. Guests: be careful of the tiny midges (insects) that come out around sunset arising from the mangroves. We’ll be back!

Retired , well traveled, travel agent. This is a great property, location in the keys is perfect, allowing you to do both upper and lower key's in a short drive. The property is well kept, small and quaint. They are quick to make any repairs, and show warm hospitality. We would choose this property again for sure!The Agent Sue Batsford with Freewheeler Vacations is Awesome to work with !!

The cottage was perfect for the 2 of us. Beautifully furnished, very comfortable bed and pillows! Short walk to a great ocean view, but no beach access. Was so nice to have bikes, kayaks and paddleboards available to us. The grounds were meticulously maintained, but no one warned us about the bugs - No-See 'ums I think? Got eaten alive, so have bug spray ready! Property manager Sue was very attentive and made sure we knew how to reach her during our stay. Would definitely stay there again.

Hawksbill cottage was just perfect for our vacation. Sue made the reservation process easy and answered all our pre-trip questions. The cottage was spotless, well appointed, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. The grounds were spectacular, even though there are several cottages on the property it felt really private. We enjoyed morning coffee on the point overlooking the ocean and even woke up early to enjoy sunrise. Our only regret is that we didn’t spend more time there. Thanks Sue for making our stay perfect.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hawksbill Cottage. The space was perfect and so comfortable, we had everything we needed. Beautifully decorated and spotless. Close location to many great restaurants and activities . We rented a boat nearby and had a most relaxing and wonderful trip.

We love this property! Beautiful grounds, pool, and ocean view! The cottages are all beautifully decorated, comfortable, and so well-maintained! It’s always a pleasure working with Sue. She’s professional, but also personable and very prompt in corresponding by text or phone. We can’t wait to plan our next stay here!

Our trip started out about as rough as it can get due to air travel delays that found us arriving in Orlando at 2:30 am on Thursday instead of in Miami around 4:30 pm the previous day. We had to drive from Orlando to Islamorada and arrived at Hawksbill Cottage at 7:30 am, 24 hours after we left home. We were completely fried from the trip and just wanted to stop moving. The moment we walked in the door, we went from having a "trip from hell" to one that was a little slice of heaven. Sue was amazing with communication throughout the entire process of booking and through our travel fiasco. She even texted us a few little encouragements throughout our travel day to show us what was waiting for us once we made it there, including pictures of the pool and a Key Lime pie in the fridge! The location was perfect for our diving trips during the week and we enjoyed massages on the patio outside from a local traveling massage therapist. For those who are "self-employed" like we are, the wifi was solid. We were both able to keep up with critical business needs in our "remote office" in the keys. Hawksbill Cottage is a great option for couples looking for a place where you can interact as little or as much as you want with people while enjoying the Keys.
A TV in the bedroom would be a perk!
